AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][99 Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and score 20 assists in the same calendar year . she became the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
